The Story of SmartSolar

SMART SOLAR started with a simple goal, to provide clean and healthy hot water on demand for the lowest cost possible.

For many years, old flat panel solar water systems were the most common type of solar water heaters on the market. Since the introduction of this technology to the Malaysian market back in the 1980s, many issues customers would face began to surface throughout the years. The Efficiency of the Solar Collector is Low, Water Remains Cold during a Cloudy Day, Leaking caused by the number of joints between the collector and the tank, corrosion of copper pipes in the collector or tank, Copper Poisoning can occur and harm our health, High Maintenance required. And last but not least, this old technology still remains at a high price even today!

Faced with these issues, we saw the need for a refresh, to bring solar water heater technology in Malaysia to a brand new era. With the urge to make a change, we’ve begun designing a brand new solar water system which eliminates all the issues stated.
